The Grupo de Jóvenes Tuneleros (GJT) is made up of professionals under 35 years of age who are members of the Spanish Association of Tunnelling and Underground Works (AETOS). Officially founded on 16 September 2019 in Madrid, Spain.

General Objectives
The general objectives and functions proposed by the Young Tunnelers Group are as follows:
- Objective O-1: to serve as a meeting point and nexus for young professionals in tunnelling and underground engineering.
- Function F-1.1: Establish relations with counterpart associations in other countries.
- Function F-1.2: promote meetings between members.
- Objective O-2: contribute to members' specific training in tunnelling and underground engineering.
- Function F-2.1: Organise guided tours for members to underground construction sites.
- Function F-2.3: To raise awareness of existing software (both standard and state-of-the-art) that is useful to the tunnel engineer and to encourage members to learn and use it.
- Function F-2.2: Promote educational talks or presentations by experienced professional specialists for members.
- Objective O-3: to constitute the generational relay that will take over from previous generations of tunnelling and underground engineers in Spain.
- Function F-3.1: To encourage the participation of the Group's members in the various AETOS working groups.
- Objective O-4: to raise awareness of the tunnelling and underground engineering profession.
- Function F-4.1: to organise dissemination actions in educational establishments.
